Description

Curious about native plants growing in natural spaces? Can’t distinguish a pine from a fir? Wondering what’s blooming in the forest and meadows of the Padilla Bay region seasonally? Wondering if adding these natives to your home garden makes sense?

Join Certified Professional Horticulturist Robin Haglund and other plant-curious cohorts each month this spring, summer & fall for a series of informal walks through the upland forests and meadows of the Padilla Bay Reserve and Breazeale Interpretive Center. Together we will expand our understanding of the flora and fauna that inhabit and contribute to the delicate balance here where the land meets the Salish sea. Each month nature will reveal new wonders, so ink all of these FREE explorations into your calendar now.

Volunteer walk leader Robin Haglund transplanted herself in Bay View/Padilla Bay from Seattle several years ago and has lead these walks ever since. She is the founder and president of pioneering garden coaching firm Garden Mentors®. Robin is an award-winning designer, a down-to-earth speaker, a popular writer and a frequent garden television expert guest and contributor.

All ages welcome. Friendly leashed dogs encouraged. Each walk will gather and begin under the arbor at the beginning of the upland trail by the parking lot. No registration needed.

Weather permitting, walks happen every second Saturday from March to October beginning at 10am. (Except: on 6/8 & 9/14 the walk will be preceded by a free on hour lecture.)
