Description
Join photographer Mark Turner to get answers to those questions, to learn and practice techniques for photographing wildflowers in their natural environment with pocket digital cameras. Our field sessions will be in locations with a wide range of subject matter for artful details, plant portraits full of both beauty and information, and visual explorations of the interrelationships of several species in their habitats. The emphasis will be on using the strengths of little cameras to discover new ways to see the flowers, creative composition, separating subjects from distracting backgrounds, and controlling natural light. Slide shows will introduce techniques, and then we’ll then go into the field to put them into practice. In the evening a group critique of the day’s work will provide rapid feedback. Participants should be familiar with operating their camera. Bring the manual, spare batteries (and charger), extra memory cards, your tripod if you have one, and an open mind ready to have fun exploring visual concepts. Bring your laptop computer, too so you can download what you shoot and then edit a selection for our group critique.
