Jodi Torpey is an award-winning vegetable gardener, master gardener, and founder and editor-in-chief of She’s the author of Blue-Ribbon Vegetable Gardening (Storey Publishing) and The Colorado Gardener’s Companion (Globe Pequot Press). Her garden writing is also published on home and garden websites and in magazines, newspapers, and e-books.

Jodi is a gardening instructor for an international audience through her Craftsy online class on small-space vegetable gardening. In addition, she’s a contributing editor for Fine Gardening Magazine’s vegetable growing website,, Mountain region garden blogger for Lowe’s, and she also writes for a local independent garden center.

She’s a popular guest speaker at conferences and gardening events around the country. Since 2010 Jodi has organized Denver’s annual Plant a Row for the Hungry campaign as a volunteer for the Garden Writers Association.
