Memorable Evening

Karen Taylor from Cincinnati, OH - 07/20/2017 10:31:03

Andrea’s lecture on The Invention of Nature was a delightful evening. The crowd was at sell out capacity and offered a robust standing ovation in response to her talk. We were thrilled to have her visit Cincinnati and share her knowledge of such an influential figure in the study of nature, conservation and ecology. At a time when important decisions are being made about protecting nature, Andrea Wulf’s reintroduction of Alexander von Humboldt to the public could not be more timely. Through the story of Humboldt’s life and influence, Wulf reminds us all how dependent our species is on our environment. The Nature Conservancy was privileged to be a part of this evening, bringing Wulf to Cincinnati to share her insights on this genius and ecological visionary. Andrea is a true story teller. Her ability to bring to life the adventures of Alexander Von Humboldt and provide fascinating detail about the research process she underwent to uncover the story made for a memorial experience.

Andrea’s lecture at Washington Crossing Historic Park (PA) was a big hit with our staff and audience. She delivered an engaging, vivid and well-researched talk on the "Founding Gardeners" and graciously met with attendees after the lecture. We received numerous compliments on the event and highly recommend Andrea for organizations and institutions looking for a unique historical lecture.

Engaging and lively

Dave Kaplan from Kent, OH - 06/28/2017 10:38:23

Andrea was invited to speak at the inaugural lecture for the Geographical Review, the US's oldest geography journal and the journal which has long commemorated Humboldt. The audience was composed of deeply knowledgeable scholars who understood Humboldt's impact on our profession. Andrea was able to enlighten and entertain this most discerning group. She spoke in a clear, colorful, and engaging style -- using visuals to affirm her points. I have seen many book authors speak over the years and I would rate Andrea Wulf as among the best. She did exactly what I asked her to do and, in addition, she was very charming to all of the people who spoke with her at the talk and at the reception following. I would highly recommend Andrea Wulf as a speaker.

Inspiring woman and incredible speaker

We've been lucky enough to have Andrea to Montpelier with some regularity and she has become an important part of our story. Her talks on the ideas and landscapes of the Founding Era are full of lost information, fascinating context, and fun stories. I've watched her engage every kind of audience, and I'm happy to call her a friend, colleague, and rock star!

She's the best!

Paula Locklair from Winston-Salem, NC - 09/13/2016 16:07:22

Quite simply, Andrea Wulf is an excellent speaker who captivates her audiences! We have had Andrea to Old Salem Museums & Gardens three times to speak about three of her books, and she has developed quite a following around here. Her lectures are beautifully illustrated, very informative, and perfect in length and delivery. Because she is such a delight, she engages with the audience like few people can. We look forward to the next book and having her back!
